The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and former party secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.
The decision was taken during the party’s ongoing national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State. The motion for their expulsion was moved by Chief Olabode George, former National Vice Chairman of the PDP (South), and seconded by Hon. Samaila Buga, the party chairman in Bauchi State.
Details regarding the reasons for the expulsions and any subsequent actions by the affected members are yet to be disclosed.
The move comes as the PDP undertakes a major internal restructuring, including the election of a new National Working Committee, in what is seen as a key step to consolidate party leadership ahead of upcoming elections.
The convention has attracted party leaders from across Nigeria and has been marked by high-profile attendance, including state governors, former governors, and senior party officials.
