President Bola Tinubu has appointed two new ministers to oversee the Ministry of Youth.
These appointments, as disclosed in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, are pending confirmation by the Senate.
Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim is appointed as the Minister of Youth, while Ayodele Olawande is designated as the Minister of State for Youth.
Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, a young medical doctor, had previously held positions such as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) and Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On the other hand, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, a community development expert and youth leader in the APC, served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.
President Tinubu has charged both nominees to embody the dynamism, innovative spirit, and unwavering productivity associated with Nigeria’s youth as they fulfill their responsibilities, according to the statement.
