Saudi Arabia has officially announced the sighting of the Ramadan 1446 crescent moon, marking the beginning of the holy month. Following the confirmation by moon-sighting committees across the Kingdom, Muslims worldwide will commence fasting on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia confirmed the sighting on Friday evening, signaling the start of the sacred month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. This announcement aligns with Islamic tradition, where the appearance of the new moon determines the commencement of Ramadan.

Muslims around the world eagerly anticipate this month, which is considered a time for increased devotion, charity, and community bonding. In the coming days, millions will observe fasting from dawn to sunset, engaging in nightly Taraweeh prayers and acts of worship.

With the official sighting, preparations for Ramadan intensify, from mosque arrangements to special family gatherings. The global Muslim community now looks forward to a spiritually fulfilling month, culminating in the celebration of Eid al-Fitr at the end of the fasting period.
