The internal crisis within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has again taken a new twist as the Rivers state government under the stewardship of Governor Nyesom Wike, has withdrawn the initial approval permitting the use of Adokiye Amirsiamaka Stadium, as the venue for the presidential rally of PDP’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Rivers.
In a letter addressed to the Director General of the Atiku campaign organization, Gov Aminu Tambuwal, dated 31st January 2023, the government cited “credible intelligence report and recent developments which showed that the campaign organization in Rivers state is working in collaboration with the APC governorship candidate Patrick Cole who leads a faction of the Rivers APC to share the facility with them with approval
