The group backing Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pulled out of the campaign Council of the party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Rising from their stormy meeting in Port Harcourt early morning on Wednesday, members of the team vowed not to partake in Atiku’s campaign activities pending the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
The meeting was held at the country home of Governor Nyesom Wike, the PDP members who were in attendance include founding members of the party, incumbent PDP Governors, Gubernatorial candidates from 12 states, NWC members and some BoT members.
Some of the notable personalities in attendance at the meeting include Olabode George, Donald Duke, Olusegun Mimiko, Jonah Jang, Dan Orbih, Seyi Makinde, Samuel Ortom, Ayo Fayose, Ugwuanyi Ifeanyi, Ikpeazu Okozie, Mohammed Adokie, Prof. Jerry Gana, Ibrahim Dankumbo and many other distinguished members of the Peoples Democratic Party.
