The cloud of uncertainty and confusion currently bedevilling Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, appears to have deepened in Edo State, as a key member of the party’s State Executive Committee is set to resign from the party within the week.
The party chieftain, Barrister Dan Osa Ogbegie, who currently serves as the State Publicity Secretary, was elected into the position in 2025. He had earlier rejoined the PDP during the 2024 governorship election campaign after previously defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2020 from the same PDP.
Truth Live News can confirm that Ogbegie, although yet to publicly disclose his next political destination, according to a reliable source who spoke to our correspondent said that he intends to move forward, noting that the situation within the PDP appears stagnant and lacking the momentum required for meaningful progress.
His planned resignation is expected to further deepen the internal challenges confronting the Edo State chapter of the PDP and could trigger fresh political realignments in the state.
