Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has felicitated with children in the state on the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day celebration, emphasizing the importance of investing in their future.
In his Children’s day message, Governor Obaseki described children as the state’s greatest assets, noting that his administration has prioritized building a vibrant state with critical institutions, structures, and systems to ensure a better future for them.
He highlighted the significant progress made in the education sector over the past eight years, stating that sustained investments and bold reforms have transformed the way children learn and improved learning outcomes.
He wrote”l heartily felicitate with our children as we celebrate this year’s Children’s Day.
“Our children are our greatest assets as they are the future of our dear State and Country, which is why we have spared no resource at building a vibrant State with critical institutions, structures and systems to assure a better future for them.
“Through our sustained investments as well as bold and pragmatic reforms in the education sector over the past eight years, we have transformed the way our children learn and improved learning outcomes, ensuring they are fully empowered to harness their boundless energy and limitless potential, and compete favourably with their peers across the globe.”
The Governor further announced that over 400,000 pupils and students in Edo State have benefited from the basic education reforms implemented by his administration.
He expressed his commitment to sustaining the gains recorded so far and prioritizing the interests and welfare of children in all policies and programs.
“With over 400,000 of Edo pupils and students benefitting from our basic education reforms, we are embolden to sustain the gains so far recorded and will continue to place the interest and welfare of our children as top priority in our policies and programmes.
“I wish all Edo children a very happy Children’s Day!!!”
