A Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has remanded three Lagos State House of Assembly workers in the custody of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) over allegations of assaulting DSS officers.
The three workers, Ibrahim Olanrewaju, Fatimoh Adetola, and Adetu Adekunle, were charged with offences relating to the alleged assault of DSS officials while they were on duty at the Assembly complex on February 17, 2025.
The DSS accused them of recording, cyberstalking, and circulating false information online to undermine law and order in Nigeria.
The court issued the remand order on Tuesday, pending their arraignment on Wednesday.
Justice Daniel Osiagor stated that he wanted to review the case file before proceeding with the trial.
Truth Live News reports that this development comes after the DSS reportedly invaded the Assembly on February 17, 2025, and took over the premises.
The leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly, however, condemned the arrest, calling on the DSS to release the detained staff immediately.
