Tension has gripped residents of Woro community in Kwara State after a disturbing video surfaced online showing insurgents believed to be members of Boko Haram parading what they claimed to be 176 kidnapped victims, including women and children.
In the footage seen by Truth Live News, the armed group assembled dozens of visibly distressed captives in an open field, alleging that the Nigerian government had downplayed the scale of the abduction.
“Your government is lying to Nigerians and the whole world by claiming only 20 was kidnapped. See them, they are more than 100,” one of the insurgents declared in the video, pointing at the crowd of abductees seated on the ground.
The incident reportedly occurred in Woro, a rural settlement in Kwara, where initial official reports had suggested that about 20 persons were abducted during the attack. However, the insurgents’ claim of 176 hostages has sparked outrage and confusion, raising concerns about transparency and the actual number of victims.
