CALABAR: Government of Cross River state has announced the immediate suspension of the earlier scheduled interviews for teaching position at the secondary education board.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Comrade Nsa Gill, in statement shared on social media said Governor Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, has ordered immediate suspension of the board interviews announced by the Board’s Admin.Director.

For him, the reason is due to the director of administration of the Board announcing employment interviews without authorization of the board.

“It’s inappropriate for individual to assume the responsibility of the entire Board,” the statement said.

The statement released on September 23, 2024, directed the director of administration to promptly meet with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

For instance, the statement read in part: “The due constitution of the State Secondary Education Board is receiving attention.”

“The action of the director of administration scheduling employment interviews is unauthorized as it’s inappropriate for individual to assume responsibilities of the entire Board.”

“Therefore, the interviews are hereby postponed,” it said. “All inconveniences are regretted.”
