The senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District, Sen. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr, has disbursed ₦100 million in micro cash grants to 1,500 constituents across the 7 LGAs.
The event was in furtherance of his commitment to assisting his constituents involved in micro businesses to expand their working capital.
Sen. Ekpenyong made this known via his X handle.
Meanwhile, on Friday May 3rd, he has also flagged off the second phase distribution of food palliatives and relief materials in Cross River South Senatorial District.
He said approximately 1,000 constituents from the 76 wards of his Senatorial District benefited.
Sen. Ekpenyong promised to do more until everyone in Cross River South Senatorial District is provided succour, either directly or indirectly.
With a gut feeling of having made a good decision the lawmaker said “You sent me to Abuja and in the course of being in Abuja I went in search and today we have a grant of N100 million.”
“I promised if you elect me as your senator I would work tirelessly.”
Therefore, “I believe I have been keeping that promise so far.”
For instance, he said “Even the bible says give Cesar what belong to Cesar; so I give what belong to Cesar and people what belongs to people.”
Thus, “I am proud about what is happening in Cross River State,” Ekpenyong noted.
“Today we have one of the most performing Governors in Nigeria in the person of Senator Bassey Edet Otu.
He said the man is working hard. “You can see calabar is changing.”
He assured them of Governor Otu’s commitment to work in the rural areas where they are from.
While urging the beneficiaries to put what they got in to good use, he congratulated all of them for being the beneficiaries of the empowerment.
