Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has called on President Bola Tinubu to reduce the price of fuel to N300 per litre to ease the burden on Nigerians during the festive season.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, December 11, Chief George emphasized that such a gesture would spread happiness across the nation during the critical months of December and January. He urged the president to act by mid-December, stating, If he really believes that these Nigerians voted him into power, it is time to give back to them.”

Highlighting the importance of the festive period for all Nigerians, regardless of religion or background, George argued that a temporary reduction in fuel prices would lead to a decrease in the cost of goods and services, improving the quality of life. He suggested that the government absorb the losses, adding, If Madam First Lady could donate N1 billion to a university, she could also contribute to this effort to make Nigerians happy.”

He urged Tinubu, who doubles as the Minister of Petroleum, to take the initiative and prioritize the well-being of citizens during the festive season.
