Cross River State Deputy Governor Rt Hon. Dr Peter Odey has admonished Christians and Cross Riverians to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ which is to love one another with pureness of heart and sincerity of purpose.
As Christians across the World commemorate Easter Celebration, he said ‘love is what rules the world.”
He added, “it conquers even the darkest of places,” as Christ is the greatest teacher of love.
His preaching contained in an Easter message made available to Truth Live News, on Sunday in Calabar.
Dr Odey said “The resurrection of Jesus Christ reminds us of the love of the Father.”
In addition, It brings to mind His loving kindness for mankind and what Christ represents.”
It should draw us back to Christ and the “counsel of God for your life shall stand,” he prayed.
His Easter message thus read: “As we celebrate the burial and resurrection of Christ, may we be reminded that love is what rules the world.”
“Love conquers even the darkest of places and Christ is the greatest teacher of love.”
Also, “It is my earnest prayer that you experience peace, soundness of mind and body and the love of Father in your hearts.”
Moreover, he admonished Christians to use the period to pray for the state, country and leaders at all levels.
However, the Deputy Governor expressed heartfelt gratitude to Cross Riverians for their support to the present administration
Meanwhile, under the able leadership of the ‘People First’ Governor, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, he has wished Cross Riverians and Christians a glorious Easter celebration.
Recall that Easter is one of the principal holidays, or feasts, of Christianity.
It marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion.
For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence.
