Mrs. Blessing Adagba, an aide to Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, has been abducted by kidnappers who are demanding a N30 million ransom for her release.
The abduction occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Okposhi Eheku community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, where Adagba serves as coordinator of Ngbo Central Development Centre.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed Adagba’s abduction on Friday and revealed that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad has been deployed to rescue her.
“The Anti-Kidnapping Squad has already moved for the rescue of the victim, Adagba. I believe they are working hard to secure her immediate release,” he said.
Truth Live News reports that this incident is part of a disturbing trend of kidnappings in Nigeria, with recent cases including the abduction of three women in Kwara State, for which kidnappers demanded a N30 million ransom, and the abduction of Ebonyi Government House cameraman Uchenna Nwube, for which kidnappers demanded N50 million.
