Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming Edo State governorship election, has formally ended all campaign activities ahead of Saturday’s poll. In strict adherence to electoral regulations, Ighodalo’s campaign team announced the conclusion of all political events and outreach efforts.
The announcement was made public in a statement issued by the Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) on Thursday, in Benin City. Signed by the campaign’s spokesperson, Erhabor Emokpae, the statement clarified that the campaign officially ceased on September 19, 2023, at precisely 11:59 PM.
“We wish to notify the general public that Dr. Asue Ighodalo’s campaign has reached its conclusion, and no activities related to it should continue beyond 23:59 PM on September 19, 2023,” the statement said. It further emphasized that any materials—whether publications, advertisements, jingles, or other promotional content—released after this deadline would not have the authorization or approval of Dr. Ighodalo or his campaign. The message was clear: Ighodalo and his team will not be responsible for any campaign-related activities conducted after the designated cut-off time.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Ighodalo expressed his deep appreciation to the people of Edo State for their steadfast support throughout the election cycle. He urged eligible voters to come out in full force on election day, perform their civic responsibility, and ensure that their votes are safeguarded. “As we conclude this phase of our journey, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every individual who embraced our vision of ‘The Pathway to Prosperity for All.’ Together, let’s ensure that the will of the people is honored at the ballot box,” the statement concluded.
