“Unfortunately, the Ex-Governor lacks the knowledge to know that the “Decision not to have a wife (in Okpebholo’s case) is human but of children (Obaseki’s case) is God”
I watched the attached video with dismay and resentment, where a man always hiding under the umbrella of vibrancy making grammatical errors because he is always on hard drugs, undistinguished Sen. Adams Oshiomhole made some useless remarks, and I couldn’t help but further feel a sense of disappointment and disillusionment. His utterances were not only unbecoming of a former Governor but also exposed his desperation and lack of decorum. By choosing to attack the personal life of Governor Obaseki and his wife, Oshiomhole demonstrated a shocking level of insensitivity and ignorance, forgetting that the issue of childbearing is a divine and sensitive matter that should be treated with respect and empathy.
His remarks were a clear indication of his political bankruptcy and inability to engage in constructive debate, resorting instead to petty and hurtful personal attacks that only serve to diminish his already tarnished reputation.
The first and ever All Progressive Congress (APC) sacked National Chairman’s recent comments on Governor Godwin Obaseki and his wife’s private dilemma are a shocking display of callousness, ignorance, and desperation. This egregious attack on a private matter is a new low for the former governor, exposing his true character and utter disregard for human decency.
Oshiomhole’s words are not only hurtful but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes, stigmatizing childlessness and inflicting unnecessary pain on those struggling with nature. His comments demonstrate a staggering lack of empathy, setting a toxic precedent for political discourse.
It’s disheartening to see a former Governor reduced to being a mouthpiece for a gubernatorial aspirant. Most painful is that he was even granting press to respond to a woman on behalf of his APC Candidate. This development exposes his lack of self-awareness and disregard for his former status. His decision to respond to a comment allegedly made by the First Lady (A woman, for that matter) on behalf of APC candidate Sen. Monday Okpebholo is a sad and belittling spectacle.
Moreover, his attempt to criticize the First Lady’s comments on marriage with childbearing is misguided. While choosing not to marry is a human decision, the blessing of children is a divine gift that transcends human control. While individuals may plan and prepare for parenthood, the ultimate decision to bestow children rests with a higher power. Oshiomole’s failure to recognize this distinction demonstrates his ignorance and desperation for relevance.
Recognizing this distinction fosters a deeper appreciation for the complexities of family arrangement and the sacred nature of human life. By acknowledging that children are a divine gift, individuals can approach family matters with humility, respect, and trust in a higher power. This perspective encourages a more thoughtful and reverent approach to building families, one that honours the mysterious and miraculous nature of human conception and birth.
Furthermore, Oshiomhole’s fixation on Obaseki’s personal life reveals his own political bankruptcy and inability to engage in constructive debate. His desperation to cling to relevance has led him down a dark path of cruelty and divisiveness.
Edo State deserves better than Oshiomhole’s toxic legacy. His comments are a stark reminder of his unfitness for leadership and his continued presence in politics is a disservice to the people. It’s time for Oshiomhole to confront the consequences of his actions and retract his hurtful statements.
