Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, has praised the EDO BEST education policy, highlighting its growing global recognition and urging private individuals and groups to support the initiative to enhance the state’s educational standards.
Speaking at the official unveiling of the Lebarty American Leadership Academy, Omobayo commended the school’s proprietor, Mr. Okefe Aigbe Lebarty, for his strong belief in the policy. Omobayo emphasized that there is ample room for further investments in the education sector to secure a bright future for Edo children.
Represented by the Director of the Deputy Governor’s Office, Mrs. Ganiyatu Uwaifo, Omobayo acknowledged the significant contributions of the Obaseki administration to education through the EDO BEST policy. This initiative, which includes teacher retraining, improved welfare, enhanced educational infrastructure, and modern teaching aids, continues to receive international acclaim and serves as a model for other states.
Omobayo also praised Mr. Aigbe Lebarty for his commitment to providing quality education for Edo children, even amidst economic challenges. He highlighted Lebarty’s dedication to ensuring that students receive top-notch education at the Lebarty American Leadership Academy, a privately owned school founded by Lebarty, a Nigerian of Benin descent based in the United States.
Mr. Aigbe Lebarty, speaking at the event, expressed his vision for the Academy to deliver world-class education to Edo children at an affordable cost, following the American syllabus. The Academy’s location in the serene and accessible Ogiesoba/Iyekepolor Street, Idumwowina Quarter, Benin City, further enhances its appeal as a premier educational institution in Edo State.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by notable Edo citizens, including Chief Henry Osato Bazuaye (JP), the *Aiwerioghene* of the Benin kingdom, and other esteemed individuals. The highlight of the event was the impressive rendition of the school anthem by the Academy’s students, showcasing their talent and the school’s commitment to excellence in education.
