The Edo State Government, through the Ministry of Roads and Bridges, has announced the temporary closure of 1st Ugbor Road and UU Drive Access Road in Oredo Local Government Area.

The closures, scheduled from Monday, May 20th to June 20th, 2024, are to facilitate essential construction work on these streets.

In a statement released on Saturday by the Commissioner of Roads and Bridges, Ethan Uzamere, and made available to Truth Live News, the government urged residents and motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion and disruptions during the construction period.

“While we understand the inconvenience this may cause, we appeal to residents and road users to see this as their contribution to the Edo State Government’s commitment to infrastructure development and the delivery of democracy’s dividends,” Uzamere stated.

The Commissioner emphasized that the roadworks are part of a broader initiative to improve the state’s infrastructure, ensuring safer and more efficient transportation networks. He reassured the public that all efforts would be made to complete the construction within the stipulated timeframe and minimize disruption.

Residents and motorists in Oredo Local Government are advised to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate with the traffic management personnel who will be deployed to assist with the smooth flow of traffic in the area.
