The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has denounced what it described as “Nollywood-style theatrics” staged by Chief Dan Orbih, reaffirming that Orbih is no longer a member of the party and has no authority to act on its behalf.

In a statement signed by Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee, the party distanced itself from a purported secretariat claimed to have been donated by Orbih.

According to the statement, the said building does not belong to the PDP but is instead linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) government in Edo State, where Orbih is “a political employee.”

The party clarified that Chief Orbih’s tenure as South-South Zonal Chairman officially ended on March 9, 2025, and that a new caretaker committee led by Chief Emma Ogidi has since assumed control of the zone’s affairs.

“It is evident that Chief Orbih’s latest drama is a desperate attempt to distract, disrupt, and destabilize the Edo PDP,” the statement said, calling on members of the party to ignore his actions and remain focused on the goal of reclaiming the party’s mandate.

Dr. Aziegbemi emphasized that the Edo PDP Caretaker Committee remains united and fully in charge of the party’s activities across the state.
