Dr. Samson Osagie, the suspended Edo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has vehemently denied allegations of financial infractions.

In a statement obtained by Truth Live News, Osagie maintained that he was never involved in any financial dealings or committed any financial infraction.

Osagie’s denial comes after his suspension by Governor Monday Okpebholo, along with Hon. Damian Lawani, Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission.

The suspension was due to allegations of grave official and financial infractions.

The suspended Attorney-General expressed his willingness to defend himself and prove his innocence, stating that he was not confronted with the allegations before his suspension was announced.

An Investigative Committee has, however, been set up to investigate the allegations and make recommendations accordingly.

Recall that this is not the first suspension in Edo State recently.

On January 25, 2025, Governor Okpebholo suspended Mr. Ahmed Musa Momoh, the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the State Flood Erosion and Watershed Management Agency, FEWMA, over alleged insubordination.
