The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has warned Nigerians about fraudulent activities on TikTok.

This was contained in a statement signed by Dele Oyewale, EFCC’s head of Media and Publicity.

Scammers conducted a live session using the Commission’s logo to mislead and defraud unsuspecting individuals.

The EFCC revealed that the fraudsters operated six fake TikTok accounts, falsely displaying the Commission’s logo and using names of non-existent directorates.

Some of the deceptive account names included:

“EFCC of Nigeria”
“EFCC Lagos”
“EFCC Delta”
“EFCC of Benin
“EFCC of Jos”
– “EFCC Saga”

The agency clarified that it does not have an official TikTok account and urged the public to ignore any profiles claiming to represent the Commission on the platform.
