The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, Dankwara Mohammed, said, he has deployed enough security personnel to all mosques, Salah praying grounds and recreational Centres across the state as part of his adequate security measures to ensure an hitch-free EID-EL-KABIR celebration.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor disclosed this in a statement personally signed by the CP, Dankwara and made available to newsmen in Benin City.
Nwabuzor said the Commissioner of Police has given them a marching order to raid and smoke out criminal elements from their hide outs and black spots to ensure the protection of lives and property of our Muslim faithful and the general public for a peaceful and hitch-free celebration, before, during and after the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.
He added that the CP warns the criminal elements to repent from the act of crimes and criminality during the period of Eid-El-Kabir celebration or vacate the state as stringent punishment would be melted against anyone arrested for committing crime.
Nwabuzor further added that the Commissioner of Police, Dankwara felicitated with all Muslim faithful in the state during this period of 2023 Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.
