Dr. Mike Onolememen CON, the Edo Central PDP Senatorial Candidate, has felicitated Muslims on the celebration of Eid-El-Kabir.
In a statement released by Mr. Elempe Oluwabamidele, his media aide, the Adolor of Uromi Kingdom tasked adherents of the faith of Islam with the need for sacrifice and love, which is the essence of Eid-El-Kabir.
He said, “I felicitate with Muslims who are celebrating the Eid-El-Kabir festivities. As we join them to celebrate this very important feast, it is important not to lose sight of the true meaning of the festival and the spirit of sacrifice it represents.
The statement which was made available to truthlive.net goes further to encourage the Muslim faithful to imbibe the humble lifestyle of Prophet Mohammed.
It reads: “So on this special occasion, I encourage us to reflect and imbibe the essence of sacrifice and humility for the promotion of harmonious relationships in our country. I urge that we look far beyond our personal desires, but to the greater responsibility to the Almighty God and to the needs of human beings”.
“Eid-el-Kabir presents the opportunity for us to specially rededicate our lives as Muslims to God Almighty, and with the spirit of sacrifice and of love.”
The former Minister of Works advised that the Muslims should continue to join hands with others of different faiths to build a safe nation and work for the general progress and development of the nation. He added that the Muslim community is a strong constituency in Edo State and Esanland and prayed that they enjoy the celebration of the Eid-El-Kabir festival in a peaceful atmosphere without the threat of insecurity.
