Nigerian singer Crayon has stirred speculation about a possible exit from Mavin Records after launching a series of controversial posts on X directed at the label’s leadership.
The 28-year-old artiste, whose real name is Charles Chibueze Chukwu, took to the platform on Sunday evening where he shared several tweets that mixed praise, criticism, and accusations involving key figures at the label.
In one of the posts, the singer appeared to maintain a friendly tone toward Mavin founder Don Jazzy while expressing anger toward others within the organisation.
“Don jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333,” he wrote.
However, his remarks soon turned confrontational as he called out the label’s chief operating officer, Tega Oghenejobo, writing:
“Tega highest criminal!!!!!!!!!”
The Lagos-born singer, who joined Blowtime Entertainment , an imprint of Mavin Records in 2019, also hinted at tension within the label’s ranks when he referenced one of its biggest stars, Rema.
“Mavin is going down!!!!!!” he posted before adding, “Rema for the next 100 years no feature. You stole my star from me. Yeah I took tha shiiiiii backkkkk hoeeeeerrrr!!!!! Snakkkkkkkeeeeeesssssssss”.
Despite the outburst, it remains unclear whether the singer’s account may have been compromised, as Crayon has continued posting normally on Instagram without raising concerns about a possible hack.
The posts have also fuelled speculation about his future with the label after he began promoting a new brand, Olodum Entertainment. The artiste shared booking details linked to the imprint, including a new contact email.
Further checks revealed that his recently released track Baami appears to be distributed under Olodum Entertainment rather than Mavin Records, with no visible branding from the latter.
In another post, the singer also invited creatives to contribute design ideas for the new label, promising a large cash reward.
“Any weird creatives that can come with OLODUM ENT FLAGGSSSSS!!!! Gets 500M million naira cash !!!!! With love WARAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!”
As of the time of reporting, Mavin Records and its executives have not issued any official response to the singer’s remarks.
