Spyro Opens Up on Years of Struggle Before Fame

Spyro, popular Nigerian singer has opened up about his long and challenging journey to success, revealing that his rise to fame came after over a decade of persistence.

In a recent Instagram post, the 35-year-old singer shared that he could hardly have imagined his current level of success just a few years ago.

According to him, his journey in the music industry spanned more than 16 years, marked by setbacks, struggles, and moments of doubt before his breakthrough eventually came.

The ‘Who Is Your Guy’ crooner used his story to inspire others, urging them not to give up on their dreams.

“If someone had told me three years ago that I would become this successful, I would have doubted it. Now, looking at my life, all I can say to anyone reading this is , don’t give up. I spent 16 years hustling in this industry and it was at my lowest point that everything changed. The same Jesus who changed my story is still changing lives. Just believe,” he wrote.

Born Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, Spyro gained widespread recognition following the release of his hit single Who Is Your Guy in November 2022.

Since then, he has released several songs including No Gree For Anybody, Billing, For You, and Funke, further cementing his place in the industry.

He has also worked with notable artistes such as Tiwa Savage and Simi.

In his personal life, the singer announced his engagement to Janet Atom in September, revealing that they met earlier in 2025.
