Over a career that spanned more than four decades, Soetan became widely recognised as one of Nigeria’s pioneering gospel singers. She was known for spiritually uplifting songs including Train Up Your Child, Help, and Darling Jesus.
She is survived by her husband, Titus Soetan, and other members of her family.
