Safi Abolaji, 44, recently released from prison in Ilorin, appears to be in great hurry to return to being a non-paying guest of government correctional facility after he was caught on Sunday with two guns, locally fabricated, and catridges.

He was found with the unlicenced firearms at a political rally organised by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, when those who caught him and handed him over to the police insist that he belongs to a rival opposition party in the state as its henchman.

So far, police investigations, including a picture of Abolaji, aka, Ojulari, obtained by Truth Live News, places him at the opposition party’s function in recent times.

Abolaji is an Aye, a cult fraternity hitman, but said to put his expertise to use for any well paying political party.

According to police account on the incident that led to his arrest, in the afternoon of that Sunday at a political rally put together by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, at Ojuekun Sarumi area, Ilorin, Safi Abolaji, 44, of Kankatu area, Ilorin, was spotted by vigilant members of the crowd in the rally lurking around.

Known as a henchman for an opposition party, the public-spirited persons accosted him asking what his mission was at the place.

In no time, a struggle ensued upon which he was found to be in possession of two locally made short-guns with cartridges and some items believed to be talisman.

“During investigation, the suspect, who confirmed to be an active member of the Aye confraternity, who was also just recently released from the correctional facility after serving a prison term, could not sufficiently explain his presence at the rally, having confirmed to be a member of another PDP,” explained Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the Kwara State police command.
