The unexpected news broke out on Wednesday morning that the embattled National Chairman of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has once again departed Nigeria for Europe.
Though a letter released by his office stated that the Benue born politician was going to Europe for a vacation, one should become curious, questioning why the chairman who had gone for summer vacation in July, would be needing another holiday only two months after, besides, summer is over, it is Autumn season in Europe.
However, Truthlive.net investigation revealed that the chairman actually left the country in a hurriedly packaged trip to avoid the embarrassment of being ignored by the governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who had told the Presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, that he will not welcome Ayu to Ibadan as the National Chairman.
A source who spoke to our correspondent revealed that governors Ortom Samuel, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Seyi Makinde of Benue, Enugu and Oyo respectively, had warned the PDP presidential candidate who is billed to tour Oyo, Enugu and Benue that, they would not receive him in their states if Ayu was part of his entourage.
According to our source: “Ortom, Makinde and Ugwuanyi told Atiku Abubakar that he should not come to their states with Ayu as the Chairman, insisting that they will not recognise him and he must resign.
“In other not be embarrassed, they hurriedly packaged a trip for him to travel out of Nigeria. Ask them what Ayu is going abroad to do at this time when those who went for holidays are returning to Nigeria?”
Truthlive.net had reported that Gov. Makinde of Oyo told Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday that the embattled National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, must resign for peace to return to the party.
