Sammy Ojeogwu popularly known as “Sammy”, brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been granted bail following his recent detention by the FCT Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Recall that Sammy was remanded after being charged with criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, theft, and cyber-bullying in a petition lodged at the FCT Metro Area Command on 28 October 2025.
His arrest was reportedly effected in Lagos under a court-warrant and he was subsequently transferred to Abuja for arraignment on 6 November 2025.
The bail was communicated on Monday, 10 November, and sources indicate the bail amount is ₦5 million.
In a short clip posted on Instagram by actress Doris Ogala, Sammy’s mother, Rita Daniels, was seen celebrating with actor Mercy Johnson and other family members, saying: “After consulting the gods, the gods did well.”
The legal drama involving Sammy is linked to the widely publicised marital dispute between Regina Daniels and her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko. Sammy’s detention reportedly followed an escalating family conflict, with the petition against him filed amid this broader tension.
Police reports stated that the FCT Police Command extended multiple invitations to Sammy, which were allegedly not honoured prior to his arrest.
The incident has stirred reactions across social media platforms, including celebrity allies of Regina Daniels, who rallied under the hashtag “#FreeSammy”.
