President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, the Deputy Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), to become the new Controller-General of the Service.

The appointment, announced on Tuesday by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will bow out of service on 11 August after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi, who previously served in the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, is currently in charge of Human Resources at the Service Headquarters

He has attended and passed all mandatory in-service training and command courses, including several professional development programmes at home and abroad.

The new appointee is a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Board Secretary, Major General A.M. Jibril (Rtd.), the CDCFIB commended the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Olola, for his outstanding service and numerous initiatives which, it said, contributed significantly to the growth and transformation of the Fire Service.
