The Confederation of African Football (CAF), has named Samuel Eto’o as its new president.
This decision came during a meeting of the CAF Executive Committee.
The previous Secretary General, Veron Mosengo, resigned just two days ago, leading to the need for a new leadership.
An emergency committee was formed, and Adamu from Nigeria was chosen to serve as the interim Secretary General.
In a surprising turn of events, Patrice Motsepe, who was part of the emergency committee, was removed after a vote where 63 percent of the members supported his ousting.
Samuel Eto’o, a football legend in Africa, will now take on the role of interim president.
Truth Live News Media reports that Eto’o is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, with 18 goals, and is Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer and third most capped player.
His leadership is expected to bring positive changes to African football.
