Founder of Project Charilove, Mr. Chris Omusi has raised the concern over the continuous flooding of the home with persons with mental related ailments.
He raised the alarm while speaking with journalists in Benin City.
Mr. Omusi said that bringing such persons to that home, negates the essence for which it was set up.
Omusi said that such persons, pose a great risk to other imates and to the facilities.
He said such persons should have in the first instance, taken to the psychiatric hospital and not to the Project Charilove.
Speaking on the state of St. Lucy Government Primary School in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, the Founder of Project Charilove, said that the school which was established in 1933 with the mission of educating the children of ex-lepers, is now left with only two teachers and in a terrible state.
While calling for urgent government intervention, he pointed out that the school had three teachers the previous year, to handle nine classrooms of eager but neglected pupils.
He further appealed to the government and those concerned to take urgent steps in deploying more teachers to the school.
