Four Days To Handing Over, Gov Ayade Reveals Why He Built TCTI In Biase

As the handing over is drawing near, the Governor of Cross River State Sen Ben Ayade, has revealed the reasons behind his choice of Biase for the siting of the Teachers Continuous Training Institute, TCTI.

The governor said the Institute was sited to honour his deputy governor Prof. Ivara Esu, whom he described as a brother and senior colleague.

He said this on Wednesday when he commissioned the multi-billion naira smart Teachers Training Institute in Biase LGA, Cross River Central Senatorial District where his Deputy hails from.

“To honour him for his loyalty and dedication, Ayade said for eight years “he provided a shoulder for me to lean on.”

Ayade who went on to say that there are some deputies who cannot point at anything they did for their people for eight years, also said that “no other institute of learning in this country has the facilities this school has.”

He said “but here you are standing tall before your people.“I celebrate your commitment to our Governorship for 8 years. God bless you.”

According to him, he said this school was designed to improve the quality of learning and improve the knowledge of teachers in the country.

Responding, the Deputy Governor Ivara Esu, said he was the happiest man because of the establishment of this Institute in his home town Biase LGA.

The one-time Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar who described Governor Ayade as his son, said his relationship with him will be for life.

“As l retire, l retire very happily to my village. Ivara said, “I want to say to my brother, friend and son, Sen Ben Ayade, thank you so much.”

The Director-General of the institute, Prof. Taoheed Adedoja said the Institute is Nigeria’s first Public Institution to train participants up to IC3 Certification”

Prof Adedoja, who said that the institution is owned by the Cross River State Governmment however, said that the federal government was interested in it.

The pioneer DG of the Institute, said the TCTI, Biased was Nigeria’s first public institution to be accredited by Certiport as Center for Digital Literacy.
