The Federal University Dutsin-Ma wing of Nonacademic Staff Union (NASU) has voiced out to distanced itself from a suspected imposter parading self as the chairman of the union.
In a statement jointly signed on Friday by the union caretaker Chairman, Comrade Nafisa Mansir Safana and the Secretary, Comrade Shehu Muhammad, the union emphasized that the said imposter is not longer a staff of the university, and thereby alerted its members and the university community at large to not associate with the imposter in any capacity as he is on mission to destabilize the peaceful working environment the university enjoys.
The statement reads:
“The attention of caretakers of NASU FUDMA Chapter has been drawn to some postings on social media platforms, especially WhatsApp groups by someone parading himself as chairman of the union demanding names, PS/PJ, and phone numbers of unsuspecting staff and our members of this our union allegedly to recover some outstanding payments to be paid by the NASU National on their behalf.
“The action of this person came to us as a complete shock and surprise because to the best of our knowledge this person is no more a staff of the university talkless of being a leader of the union which he claims to be.
“Also laughable is the action of recovering funds for staff. This is not only false, full of lies, baseless, unfounded, misleading and mischievous but a bunch of rubbish crafted by the said impostor trying to swindle our esteem members.
“Our union strongly advised staff to be wary of this impostor and this his present action and those in future as they are out to cause uncessary chaos at the University.
“Our members are hereby warned to desist from associating with him nor recognising him henceforth as union leader because he has since been relieved of his appointment by the Governing Council of the University and has personally acknowledged the received of the letter.
“We are calling on security operatives to do the needful by taking necessary action on this impostor”.
