The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has extended its sympathies to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, over the death of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa, who passed on at the age of 95.
In a condolence message, jointly signed by the Chairman of the council, Festus Alenkhe, and the Secretary, Andy Egbon, the union described the news of the matriarch’s passing as deeply saddening, even as it acknowledged her remarkable life of service, faith, and devotion to family and community.
The NUJ noted that the late Madam Idahosa’s longevity and impactful legacy were clear testimonies to a life well lived, characterised by strength of character, wisdom, and enduring values.
According to the council, her death represents not only a personal loss to the deputy governor and the Idahosa and Enabulele families, but also a significant loss to the wider community that benefitted from her exemplary life and motherly guidance.
While sharing in the grief of the bereaved family, the union prayed that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and repose the soul of the deceased.
The NUJ urged the deputy governor to take solace in the indelible legacy left behind by his late mother and the impactful life she lived.
