Germany has approved a significant military aid package for Ukraine, totaling €3 billion ($3.25 billion).
This move comes just days before planned US-brokered talks between Moscow and Kyiv on a limited truce.
The funds will be used to purchase defense equipment, including munitions, drones, armored vehicles, and air defense systems.
The German parliament’s budget committee approved the funds, which had been on hold due to discord within the coalition government.
This latest aid package is in addition to the €4 billion already allocated for Ukraine military aid in Germany’s 2025 budget.
Furthermore, an additional €8.3 billion has been earmarked for Kyiv from 2026 to 2029.
Government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit stated that the latest package would include German-made Iris-T air defense systems, which will be delivered over the next two years.
