Gov. Eno Celebrates Guinness World Record Candidate Over 145 Hours Reading Aloud

Governor Umo Bassey Eno, of Akwa Ibom State has hailed Mr. John Obot, who, last night broke the Guinness World Record for the longest individual hours spent reading.

His message of encouragement to the Guinness World Record breaking candidate, John Obot, who is aspiring to read aloud for 145 hours was delivered through his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi.

Despite clocking the 145 hours mark during the visit by the deputy Governor, John told the gathering that he will not stop reading until 10pm later today. And went further to extend the hours from 124 to 145 hours, and still counting.

Eno, who was effusive in his praise of Mr. Obot said, “This is what we all can do in our various fields with the right discipline, mindset, determination and focus.”

“This is what the Akwa Ibom spirit represents: Resilience, grit, determination, ‘ can- do’ bravado and passion to excel.”

He said his success has ignited their reading culture and he looks forward to celebrating him and other heroes and heroines during their forthcoming 36th State Anniversary.

Mr Obot who hit the 124 hours milestone, Sunday amidst cheers by spectators and supporters set a new record of 145 hours of marathon reading aloud by an individual to cart home the title which is currently held by Rysbai Isakov.
