Gov. Eno Restructures Ibom Power Leadership, Delays Aviation Project Ceremony to Honor Late Army Chief

The Governor of Akwa Ibom state Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, has sacked the Managing Director Ibom Power Company Limited Engr Meyen Etukudo.

As part of the restructuring exercise to align with machinery of Government, Governor Eno directed him to hands over to the Commissioner Ministry of Power till further notice.

Secretary to the State Government Prince Enobong Uwah, in a statement on social media dated November 14, 2024 with reference number SSG/AKS/18/VOL.I/54 said Pastor Eno expressed gratitude to the DG for his services to the State.

While wishing him well in his future endeavors, he said Etukudo’s termination of appointment takes immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom state has postponed the ground-breaking ceremony of the Aviation Village, earlier scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, November 15, 2024.

A release by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Ekerete Udoh onNovember 14, 2024 said that the new date has been moved to Monday, November 18, 2024.

According to him, the decision to move the event, is a reflection of the mood of the Nation, following the sad and painful passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Late Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, whose funeral will take place in Friday, November 15, 2024.

“The late Army Chief, was a beloved Officer, a patriot, a gentleman and a great military strategist,” the Governor eulogized him.

In addition, he said Lagbaja, served the Nation meritoriously at different theatres of operation, culminating in his deserved appointment as the 23rd Chief of Army Staff, Headquarters by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

“He also, had served State, as the Commander, 2 Brigade Headquarters, Uyo,” Pastor Eno stated.

Truth Live News learned that the Chief of Army Staff Conference, held in the state brought the top echelon of the Nigerian Army to brainstorm on new approaches to securing the country and maintaining our territorial integrity featured late Lagbaja.

Therefore, “we join the President and Commander-in-Chief, Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, Nigerian Army and the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General T.A Lagbaja in mourning his loss.”

“May his soul rest in peace,” he prayed.
