Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has authorized a Christmas bonus of N100,000 for all civil servants in the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Johnson, revealed this in a statement issued in Port Harcourt.
According to the commissioner, the governor promptly directed the payment to ensure civil servants have a delightful festive period.
He stated, “Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has sanctioned a Christmas bonus of N100,000 for Rivers State civil servants. The governor issued this approval on Tuesday for immediate execution, aiming for civil servants to enjoy a wonderful yuletide celebration.”
In response, Mr. Alex Agwanwo, the state Chairman of NLC, praised the governor for bringing joy to the hearts of the state’s civil servants. He assured that workers would wholeheartedly back the administration’s programs and activities.
Agwanwo highlighted that the workforce hadn’t received such welfare considerations for over eight years.
He added, “This gesture is truly appreciated. Since the memo was released last night, I’ve received numerous calls from workers, indicating the joy they feel.”
“Over the past eight years, such generosity has never been extended to us, but it’s happening now. This demonstrates why we will continue to rally behind the governor in all his endeavors and plans.”
Agwanwo commended the governor for rising from the ranks as a civil servant to the governor’s seat, expressing gratitude for the initiative without external pressure.
“We express gratitude and pray for God’s protection over him. Our dedication to supporting him remains unwavering through thick and thin. Governor Fubara has proven himself to be one of us, and we will stand by him regardless.”
The state’s workforce pledges their solidarity, affirming their commitment to protect and support Governor Fubara in all circumstances.
