Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu of Abia State has directed the State Board of Internal Revenue to resume collection of market daily tolls and levies in the State.
Ikpeazu had suspended the collection of revenue in the state months back due to Naira Scarcity and Cash policy.
The governor, in a statement on Sunday by Barr. Chris Ezem, secretary to the State Government, claimed that the resumed levy payment followed the Central Bank of Nigeria’s resolution of the cash shortage.
He said, “Following the resolution of issues around the Central Bank of Nigeria redesign currency and cash policy, the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has directed the State Board of Internal Revenue to immediately resume collection of Market daily tolls and levies under the consolidated revenue platform.”
