The Abia State Government has announced plans to recruit 4,500 teachers as part of efforts to revamp the state’s education sector.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Commissioner for Education, Hon. Goodluck Ubochi, revealed that the recruitment drive will include 2,500 teachers for senior secondary schools and 2,000 for junior secondary and primary schools.
“This is a bold step by Governor Alex Otti to revamp the education sector in Abia State. By recruiting 4,500 teachers, we are not only tackling unemployment but also improving the standard of teaching and learning in our schools. The future of our children is a priority,” Ubochi said.
Interested candidates have been instructed to submit their applications through the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Umuahia. The application process is underway, and an official advertisement for the vacancies will be published next week.
The move is part of the state’s commitment to enhancing education standards and providing better learning opportunities for students across Abia.
