Gov. Otu Receives NYCN On Solidarity Rally Of His 100 Days In Office, Promises Grants, Soft Loans

The Cross River State Governor Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has said that youths who need soft loans to start up small businesses will be granted access to better their lots.

He has also charged them to be patience, law abiding and continue to rally round government peacefully, adding that those who need vocational skills will be given the opportunity.

Otu who was represented by his deputy Rt. Hon Peter Odey made the promise when he received youths across the 18 local government areas of of the state Thursday, on a solidarity rally to celebrate his 100 days in office.

The governor said in no distant time the anticipated transformation will be felt by all, irrespective of their political affiliation.

Led by the President, National Youth Council of Nigeria, C’River State Chapter, Comrade Dan Obo, the governor expressed joy over the initiative saying he was very happy to be associated with the youths of the state.

“As a constituency I am very passionate about,” the governor said, he was happy that they have appreciated their efforts so far in bringing as many youths as they can on board.”

“Notwithstanding, we will do more, we will bring more youths into government in appreciation of this show of love to our administration and by keeping faith that indeed the season of sweetness will touch the lives of everyone,” he promised.

While assuring them that those who have requisite qualification to be engaged in the state civil service will be employed, he went further to thank them for believing in his administration.

The Cross River state Commissioner for Youth Mr Odum-Ijom Ukam,who announced to the crowd that so many programmes have already been rolled out by the governor to engage the youths, appealed to government to commence the second batch of vocational training of youths at the Fabrication Academy.

Others who spoke at the rally were Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Cross River Chapter, Comrade Dan Obo, National President of the National Association of Cross River State Students, (NACRISS), Comrade Akeke Peter Adie, commended Prince Otu led administration in the state for running an inclusive government that has provided rooms for youths to participate in governance in the state.

They called on the governor while celebrating him for the impact he has already created in the past 100 days in office to restore state scholarship scheme, students’ grants and other financial support programmes especially for the indigent students.

Truth Live News learned that the procession kicked off at Otu’s Campaign office along Murtala Muhammed Highway and terminated at the entrance of the Calabar Int’l Conference Centre (CICC).
