Gov Soludo Announces Free, Compulsory Education In Anambra

The Anambra State governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has announced free and compulsory education in public schools across the state.

He said the move aligned with his vision of an all-inclusive education for the state.

Governor Soludo who made this announcement during an event held at Premier Primary School, Obosi, also stated that education, ranging from Early Childhood Care and Development Education (ECCDE) to Junior Secondary Schools (JSS), will no longer involve charging of school fees or any other related costs for school-age children in the state.

He stated, “Starting now, children within this educational range will not be required to pay school fees or any additional charges to access education in the state. School-age children will no longer be denied access to quality education, and community schools will be upgraded to smart schools to align with our goal of providing skill-based and sustainable education.”

Governor Soludo assured that mechanisms would be put in place to effectively implement this directive in the state.

He also issued a stern warning that his administration would not tolerate non-compliance with this announcement.
