A group on the aegis of Nigerian Institute For Oil Palm Research ( NIFOR) Childhood Friends of 1979-1983 Association has honoured a Nigerian comedian, Mr. Lawrence Osarenkhoe alias MC Casino for being a shinning light and placing the community that has nurtured him in the world map.
Also, the group honoured Engr. Prof. Matthias Ekpu, who happens to be one of the youngest professors.
Others are: Mr Frederick Owobu, Engr. Innocent Ekpu, Ubara Eloho Usiwo, Engr. Isidahomen Okpeaifoh, Innocent E.Ujadughele, Innocent O. Okotubu, Barr. Osaze Agbonifo, Templa Ojieabu, Osarumwense Aikhionbare, Maureen Mgbeze-Aghedo, Kelvin Dako, Bruno Dennis, Chinedu Ossai, Sandra Ndudi Chikere, Binta Innih, Amb. Wilson Ekhomogiazin
and Ifeoma Emenike.
President of the group, Mr. Etinosa Ekhomogiazin who disclosed the essence of the awards during a get-together ceremony in Benin, said it was to remind them that their contributions to the development of the society is highly recognized and appreciated by all and sundry.
He said for Engr. Innocent Ekpu, he has constantly contributed his quota to the welfare of the less privileged in the society
Truth Live News reports that Mr. Ekhomogiazin further called for patience from those who were not nominated for this year’s award noting that they still stand a better chance of being nominated in subsequent years.
“To award recipients for today’s event, you have all shown capacity and support to this group.
“Thus, you all merit the award in your respective honour. Those not nominated for an award this year, I call for patience and more dedication.
“Lastly, I want to praise the multiple roles played by you all sitting over here.
“There are advocates, artists, scientists, doctors, actors, engineers, teachers, etc sitting in this hall.
“I would like to appreciate all the effort that is made by you all for the development of our society and thank you for justifying the years spent by you at this institution.
“Last but not the least, I would like everyone to participate today. Hope you all like the arrangement made for your get together? Wish you a wonderful evening. Have a good time ahead”, Ekhomogiazin said.
