Toba Owojaiye reporting
Benin City, Edo State
Dr. Uwaibi Peter, the global coordinator of Esankhide organization, announced plans to initiate a petition to recall Senator Monday Okpebholo. He said the signatures will be collected from the five Local Government Councils of Edo Central Senatorial District starting next week.
In a strongly worded statement, made available to Truth Live News, he emphasized the following:
“The entire Edo Central Senatorial constituency is increasingly dissatisfied with Monday Okpebholo’s lackluster performance and ineffective representation in the Senate. The Esankhide organization, dedicated to the welfare of Esan people both locally and globally, has publicly criticized Okpebholo’s tenure, citing his consistent absence and failure to engage meaningfully in Senate proceedings.”
“We, representing Esan communities worldwide, are profoundly disappointed with Okpebholo’s stewardship and hereby call for his immediate recall. Our concerns include his neglect of constituency duties, relinquishment of authority to other senators, and overall failure to champion Esan developmental interests.”
He said in a clarion call.
” It is evident that for so long, the Esan people have coped with the odious humiliation of a depleted, ludicrous representative who can barely decipher, comprehend, or understand the rigorous undertakings of Senate plenary sessions.
We, members of this distinguished group at home and abroad, are unimpressed with his continuous representation in the Senate and have therefore called for the immediate recall of his abysmal stewardship in the Senate.
We outline these causes as some of his failings:
– Abandonment of constituency representation in Senate plenary sessions.
– Conceding his authoritative power of representation to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, thus abating Esan collective progressive developmental interests.
– A complete dereliction of duties by delegating his representative responsibilities to Senator Godswill Akpabio, further frustrating us with his aberrational, self-defeatist attitude.
We, the global members of Esankhide, have therefore issued an irrevocable demand for the immediate recall of Monday Okpebholo to come back home and address these pertinent allegations”.
The senator seems to have bitten more than he can chew. His aspirations for governor of Edo state, has put him in the spotlight and is doing him more harm than good. From grammatical gaffes, to allegations of forged documents and PVC saga, a recall from the senate is imminent.
