A native doctor from Anambra state, known as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Idemili North local government area.
The incident occurred on Sunday night, when armed men stormed the hotel of the popular native doctor in the Oba community and shot dead two of his bodyguards before taking him to an unknown location.
The abduction of the native doctor, who was considered to be one of the most powerful in Anambra State, raised concerns about his status.
Since he was not able to escape his abductors, questions were raised as to whether his supernatural powers were real or just a hoax.
There were also questions about whether his powers only worked for others and not for himself.
Confirming the incident, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga said the incident happened around 11:30pm last night.
He continued by saying that the State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye has already ordered operatives go after his abductors and ensure his release.
