Health Minister Commissions Three Healthcare Projects In Akwa Ibom

UYO, AKWA IBOM – The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has commissioned three major healthcare projects in Akwa Ibom State.

 

The projects include the Akwa Ibom State Medical Oxygen Production Plant (AKSMOPP), the Model Primary Health Centre (Base), and the Akwa Ibom State Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (AKISEMSAS).

Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, in a statement on Facebook, described the projects as transformative, emphasizing their role in strengthening the state’s healthcare system, improving emergency response, and ensuring quality medical services for all.

 

 

“We are not just building infrastructure but also expanding access to quality healthcare and enhancing medical insurance to position Akwa Ibom as a medical tourism hub,” the governor stated.

Governor Eno also expressed his appreciation to Prof. Pate for his support and commendation. Additionally, he thanked the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, for his presence and solidarity during the commissioning.

He further acknowledged the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Ekem John, and his team for their dedication in making the projects a reality.

 

“To the people of Akwa Ibom, thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger state. Let’s keep rising!” he added.

The newly commissioned projects are expected to enhance healthcare delivery in Akwa Ibom and contribute to the state’s vision of becoming a medical tourism hub.
