Celebrating the diligent efforts of workers worldwide on this Workers’ Day, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming Edo State elections, extends heartfelt gratitude to the workforce of Edo, highlighting their pivotal role in advancing the state’s economy. With a vision for progress and prosperity, he urges reflection on past legacies and calls for sustained commitment to building a vibrant future for Edo.

In a press statement made available to Truth Live News by the media team, Ighodalo reiterated his commitment to the total welfare of workers, noting that he plans to take their welfare to a higher level when elected into office in the forthcoming elections. He appreciated Edo workers for their sacrifices and commitment to the development of the state under the current government, stating that their sacrifices will not go unrewarded if elected as the next governor of the state.

The press statement reads in part;

“On this auspicious occasion of May Day, which is Workers’ Day worldwide, I want to congratulate you for being alive to witness this year’s Workers’ Day. I equally want to express my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you for the hard work, dedication, and commitment you demonstrate every day at your various work places, either as a public servant or a private employee, working to keep our state’s economy going in Edo State.

“As you celebrate today, I call on you to reflect on the legacies of our heroes past, and how to sustain them as we forge ahead in our quest to create a first world sub-national state within the Nigerian federation. I know that with you, our vision and dream of creating an Edo State that will set the pace in terms of progress, development and prosperity is achievable. Only remain focus, consistent and don’t be deceived by those who seek to retard our pace as we move toward a defining moment in our state’s history.

“Let today be an occasion to reflect on the progress we’ve made towards building a fair, safe, and equitable workplace for all and so reaffirm our commitment to ensuring a positive work environment for everyone in the years ahead.

“My commitment to your welfare is total and unwavering. We will sustain and even take your welfare a notch higher than it is now, if we assume leadership of our dear state come November 12, 2024. I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us and the impact we will make in our state, working together.

“Finally, I urge you all to be moderate and measured in your celebration, knowing that too much of everything is bad. May God bless you all, and may God bless Edo State.”

Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the top contender in the forthcoming Edo election slated for September 21st 2024, has always been an advocate of a better welfare package for Edo workers.  This he has advanced in numerous fora and interviews where he has promised to build and improve on the achievement of the current government of Godwin Obaseki in terms of workers’ welfare and development. Promising workers under his watch will be better off with whatever level they have attained concerning their welfare and other incentives.
