The acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun Olokayode has decorated eleven newly promoted officers in Edo State.

The decoration was done by the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dankwara, on behalf of the IGP.

Truth Live News reports that one Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), two Chief Superintendent of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police, five Superintendent of Police to Chief Superintendent of Police and three Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police.

Decorating the officers, CP Dankwara, said “the police force find you worthy of promotion but you should know that it comes with more responsibility”.

Dankwara admonished the officers to guide their rank jealously by doing the right thing and be good ambassador of the force.

“Now you have been promoted to a higher rank, you have to be more careful because there are some ranks that when you make a mistake, it would be overlooked but it is different with your new ranks. The more you go higher, the more you would be watched by other officers and members of the public.”

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, ACP Margret Oyakhire, commended the IGP and Police Service Commission for finding them worthy of the new ranks.

She assured the commissioner that they would not disappoint the force in the discharged of their duty.
