The chairman Managing Director Lee Engineering Group and Allied Companies Ltd, Chief Dr Leemon Ikpea, has doled out the sum of N100 million to Christ the Redeemer’s School in Benin, just as he promised to fund the education of 10 best graduating students of the school from their university to their PhD level.

He also said the students would be the ones to decide which universities and the countries in which they have to pursue their education.

Dr. Ikpea made the pledges at the school in Benin where a multipurpose hall of the school was named after him.

Ikpea who recalled how poor his parents were then and how fortune finally smiled at him, said God has blessed him so that, himself can be a blessing to others.

He noted that the children are the leaders of tomorrow and they must be nurtured with the right virtues and values rooted in the fear of God.

“These are my grand children. I am happy they way they have conducted themselves. They are the leaders of tomorrow and I want to assure the children that the 10 best students of this school will be given scholarships to university of their choices

“Anywhere across the world they want to go, I am ready to take you there.

“I want to appeal to the management of this school to teach them the way of God to enable them excel in life”, Ikpea added.

Earlier, Chairman, Board of Governors of the school, Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu in her keynote address, commended the support of the donor, Leemon Ikpea towards the school, maintaining that the school is targeted at training children of the poor and needy on free education basis.

In his vote of thanks, pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, described the donor as God fearing and humble man with high integrity whose relationship with him dated over three decades ago.

He further added that Christ the Redeemer’s School is not commercially oriented, but to provide quality education and strong moral values to the students and pupils who are from the very low backgrounds in the society.
